Parks have always been a big part of the overall plan for landscape architecture. Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of American Landscape Architecture was paramount in emphasizing the importance of parks in the landscape environment. Having built one of the first major parks, Niagra Falls State Park back in the 1800s, this was one of his major contributions.

The large landscape design of parks is an amazing task. Fredrick Law Olmsted actually choose the location of every single plant in Central Park in NYC. The Niagra Falls State Park mentions above is an amazing design and blows the mind when you take the time to pay attention to it.
