The Friends of St. Nicholas Park sponsor programs and events which include an annual tree lighting celebration, Easter and Fall festivals, film festivals, music events, public art exhibitions and park volunteer days where members of the community can help keep our park clean and beautiful. Below are some events the Friends sponsor during the year. Be sure to check our calendar for additional events.

Annual Easter Festival

Our Easter Festival features a day of face-painting, Easter egg hunts, arts and crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny!

Historic Harlem Parks Film Festival

A 10-day film series (two nights at each of five parks) that combines both musical performances with independent films. The event is co-sponsored with the Historic Harlem Parks Coalition.

Fall Festival

This festival ushers in the beginning of the Fall season with face-painting, pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, story-telling, hot cider and cookies and special appearances by the Harlem School for the Arts.

Holiday Tree Lighting

The tree lighting is an exciting event that features performances from musicians in the community including the Harlem School for the Arts, City College and area churches. Carol singing, cidar and hot chocolate and a visit from Santa Claus help the Holiday Season get underway.
