About The Friends

masterlogo_final1In 1995, Harlem community members organized the “Take Back St. Nicholas Park” campaign. Groups including the Friends of St. Nicholas Park, West Harlem Art Fund and the Hamilton Heights Homeowners Association helped to make the park a cleaner and safer place. Today, programs include an annual tree lighting celebration, Easter and Fall festivals, film festivals, music events, public art exhibitions and park volunteer days where members of the community can help keep our park clean and beautiful.

The Friends of St. Nicholas Park is a coalition of residents and community based organizations, working together to revitalize our neighborhood’s natural resource. We advocate for the increase in programming, beautification projects, and the over all positive use of our 23-acre park. Contact us and help make a difference in your park!
